Pakistan's Shahid Afridi is the highest wicket taker with 98 scalps.

Malinga is the highest wicket-taker in the IPL, having taken a total of 154 wickets in 110 matches, since the tournament started in 2008.

Yuvraj, who last played for India in June 2017 when the team toured West Indies, made it clear that till the time he enjoys the game, he will continue playing.

Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Malinga said, "Once I become available for Mumbai Indians, I would have missed seven or eight games". Malinga is the captain of the Sri Lankan ODI and T20I squads.

However Malinga's first focus is the World Cup in England.

While there is no confirmation if the selectors will persist with him as skipper for the World Cup, especially after the team's poor performance in South Africa where they were swept 5-0, Malinga has done enough with the ball to warrant a place in the 15-man squad.

He will then play in the Super Provincial One Day domestic tournament during which Mumbai will play only two matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab.

"After the World Cup, my cricketing career is ending", the 35-year-old said after his side lost to South Africa in the second Twenty20 worldwide at SuperSport Park. "And I could not decide on what to do", said the 37-year-old. He is the second Kashmiri to play in IPL, after off-spinner Parvez Rasool, who went on to play for Indian National Team as well. I'm okay with losing those earnings from IPL.

"Very frustrating for myself and the support staff (the top order failure)".

SRI LANKA captain Lasith Malinga celebrates with his team-mates after getting a wicket during the Twenty20 worldwide against South Africa. "They have to learn that. It's important that we groom him well, hopefully he'll be next big thing for us", he said about Pant.
