Eder Militao's highlights show Real Madrid have signed a future world-class player

Real Madrid have announced an agreement to sign Porto defender Eder Militao in the summer, marking the club's first signing since Zinedine Zidane's return as manager.

A statement on Real Madrid's website reads: "Real Madrid and Porto have agreed the transfer of the player Éder Militão, who will be linked to the club during the next six seasons, until June 30, 2025". His debut came against Moreirense in the League and he got his name on the scoresheet for the first time against Schalke in the Champions League.

But Real Madrid raved about him in their statement confirming his signing.

The defender will join Madrid on a six-year contract this summer after for a fee of €50 million, after they triggered his release clause.

Interestingly, the centre-half, who also doubles as a right-back, featured 20 times for Porto in the Portuguese topflight this campaign, netting two goals along with two assists.

"He has been named the best defender of the championship for five consecutive months".

"He stands out for his speed, positioning and ability to anticipate danger".

He has made 34 appearances this season and helped Portuguese champions into the Champions League quarter-finals.
