Actress Kangana Ranaut has hit back strongly at Rajput fringe group Karni Sena who have threatened to protests against the release of the her film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi.

According to reports, the Maharashtra wing of the Karni Sena protested against the film on Thursday alleging that the period drama "alludes to Rani Laxmibai's relationship with a British officer". Despite obtaining a certificate from the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC), the Karni Sena has asked the actress to show him the film.

Not just that, they also claimed that there is a scene in the film where the Queen dances to a special number and that is against their tradition. We have requested the producers to show us the film before its release. Warning the filmmakers of dire consequences, Sukhdev Singh Shekhavat, National Head of Karni Sena has stated that despite a ruling by the Supreme Court, the group had not allowed Deepika Padukone-starrer Padmaavat to release in many states. Manikarnika will face the same outcome. Like any other historical, Manikarnika too has apparently hurt the sentiments of few individuals and they, Karni Sena, are reportedly getting to harass the actress who is the complete creative authority over the film.
