Xiaomi unveils the new Redmi Note 7

At the bottom, we see the text "Redmi by Xiaomi" indicating that this is indeed a new sub-brand.

Xiaomi is promising a lot with the new Redmi Note 7 camera, especially with the smart features on the 13MP front camera that lets you unlock the device with your face, and comes with things like portrait mode/bokeh effect. The rear camera is a 48 MP Samsung sensor, paired with a 13 MP front camera.

The star of the show though, is the double rear camera. The display of the Redmi Note 7 is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. As if this wasn't impressive enough, Redmi Note 7 has also made a decision to couple the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 CPU to 6GB of RAM.

The newly announced Redmi Note 7 will come in three memory variants with support for microSD card as well.

The Redmi Note 7 packs a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 bolster.

What Else Do We Know About The Redmi Note 7?

As expected, Xiaomi has once again pushed the boundaries of just how much phone you can get for your money. As far as the camera is concerned, the Redmi Note 7 smartphone could offer a 48MP rear camera. The Redmi Note 7 comes with two cameras on the back which are placed in a vertical fashion. This will be the first to be launched after the Redmi brand being independent of Xiaomi.

Availability: Goes on sale in China from January 15.

The display is 6.3-inches diagonally and has a water droplet-style notch.

The Redmi Note 7 is also the first Redmi Note smartphone to feature USB type-C and it also retains the headphone jack and infrared sensor. It will be available in Blue, Twilight Gold and Black color options.

The Redmi Note 7 has been launched at a starting price of 999 yuan, which roughly translates to Rs 10,500.

A similar poster was shared on Weibo but it reveals more details such as the phone's nickname "King Kong" and also the time for the launch which is 1400hrs China local time (0600hrs GMT).

On the other hand, the high-end variant of the Redmi 6A which comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage will be selling for Rs 6,999.
