Emery: Arsenal can not make January deals

The club is seemingly short of funds and this week, a number of reports have claimed that the Gunners can only sign players on loan in this January window, something which Unai Emery confirmed.

"I can say to you that the club is working, the club is telling me the different situations in each moment. Everyone is still trying to get used to it but it is going well at the moment".

Emery is happy with his current group, but the Spaniard is said to be keen to bring in a midfield replacement for Aaron Ramsey, who is due to depart the Emirates Stadium on a free contract in June.

"I asked at Blackpool if he was OK to help us play and he said: "Yeah, coach, I want to play" and he played with a very big behaviour and commitment to us".

Emery was also asked about Ever Banega, a player he managed at Sevilla and is a rumoured target for the Gunners.

"We can not sign permanently".

The Wales worldwide, 28, has been in talks with a number of European clubs and can agree a pre-contract agreement with a foreign side before moving in the summer for free.

'Little by little Koscielny is feeling better and he can play consistently in the next matches, but I think he is getting better.

Speaking the reporters ahead of Saturday's trip to West Ham, Emery said: "I don't know about his situation".

"After, his future belongs to him, his family and agent".

"My idea and focus, I say to him every day, is that we need his performance for us", he said. Every day he's here with us, he's working very well.

The Gunners go into the London derby buoyed by back-to-back wins following a stuttering run of results.

Emery has been boosted by the return to full training of Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi and Héctor Bellerín.
