Bihar Court Orders FIR Against the Accidental Prime Minister Team


"They have released some film just before the election".

The plea in the apex court has sought stay on exhibition of trailer of the film on YouTube and to suspend the release and exhibition of the movie during pendency of the matter.

In his complaint, Ojha had named Kher, who plays the role of Singh, as well as Akshaye Khanna, who plays Singh's media advisor Sanjaya Baru, on whose book the movie is based upon.

Muzaffarpur: A court here on Tuesday ordered the lodging of an FIR against Bollywood actors Anupam Kher, Akshaye Khanna and 15 others associated with the upcoming movie The Accidental Prime Minister based on the tenure of former prime minister Manmohan Singh. "This is nothing but a propaganda film to show former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress party in poor light". This is a movie which talks about modern Indian politics, made with wonderful amount of brilliance by the directors and the producers and the cast is phenomenal. Ojha claimed that the film's trailer had hurt his sentiments. Mr Kher, who has stood by the film and advocated for the accuracy of the depiction of the characters in strong words, referred to his portrayal of Dr Manmohan Singh as "my life's best performance".

A petition filed in Delhi High Court seeking a ban on the movie's trailer is due for a hearing on Wednesday. It has been produced by Bohra Bros and released Rudra Production in association with Jayantilal Gada under the banner of Pen India Limited.
