Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul suspended pending inquiry

After listening to the comment, Anushka looks shocked and Karan is seen laughing and Anushka hits on Ranveer's arms and says, "Don't talk to me like that".

India will not be fielding Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul in Saturday's ODI series-opener against Australia after Committee of Administrators (CoA) member Diana Edulji recommended a suspension pending inquiry for their controversial comments on women during a TV show.

Both Pandya and Rahul have been reprimanded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which is mulling a ban on the cricketers.

After cricketer Hardik Pandya's remarks about women on Karan Johar's chat show Koffee With Karan season 6, a throwback video from the popular show has now irked audiences.

Edulji had initially suggested a two-match suspension for the duo but referred the matter to the legal cell after Vinod Rai agreed with her and recommended the same.

"You are just watching and observing how (women) move, as I said I am a little from the black side (influenced by West Indies culture) so I have to see how they move first", he said.

"Considering that the inquiry process against the concerned players has commenced and is pending, it is open for the COA to suspend the concerned players (along with their privileges and benefits) pending enquiry and proceeding into the charges of misconduct until final adjudication", the legal team said in its email to the CoA, the office bearers and the BCCI's professional management.

"We as the Indian cricket team and responsible cricketers do not support such views", Kohli said during the pre-match press conference in Sydney.

However, the skipper insisted that the dressing room morale won't be affected by the controversy after the historic high of a maiden Test series triumph in Australia.

Hardik had boasted about seeing multiple women on Koffee With Karan and his parents pride in the same while being degrading towards women. Comments he made on the show were called out as sexist and caused a social media furor after it was aired on Hotstar.

The comments triggered social media outrage, and prompted Pandya to release a statement apologising for his behaviour, saying he got "carried away by the nature of the show". In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments.
