Princess Charlotte will love Kate Middleton's next special engagement

Nearly eight years after she married into the Royal Family and 16 years after she first met William at university, the Duchess of Cambridge boasts a vast collection of royal jewellery.

Kate has also become an aunt to sister Pippa Matthews's baby son Arthur, and the Cambridges are also awaiting the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first child in the spring - another cousin for George, Charlotte and Louis.

Considering that she's a mother of three, the future Queen of England, and one of the most-discussed public figures in the world, we'd say a quiet evening at home sounds more than well deserved.

Kensington Palace announced on Wednesday that the Duchess of Cambridge will be visiting the Royal Opera House next week to meet the costume department and The Royal Ballet dancers.

Prince William, a former pilot with the air ambulance service in East Anglia, flew from Kensington Palace for 25 minutes before landing on a helipad at the Royal London Hospital.

And if her past gifts are anything to go by, this year Kate can expect a piece which is elegant, sentimental and carefully thought-out by her other half. The first one was a plush helicopter, flawless for William and Kate's newborn. Almost 20-years after the paparazzi-induced death of William's late mother, the prince released a statement via Clarence House encouraging the press to leave his girlfriend alone.

The palace wished Middleton a happy birthday on the palace and the royal family's official Twitter accounts. Kate marked the event privately on Wednesday with her family.

A year ago the heavily pregnant Duchess spent the day with her family at Kensington Palace.

The father of three - Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 8 months - was also presented with some cuddly toys to bring home.
