Jurgen Klopp's side responded to going behind at Burnley by scoring twice in seven second-half minutes to maintain their unbeaten record and stay two points behind the leaders.

Nathaniel Clyne of Liverpool dejected at the end of the Carabao Cup Third Round match between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield on September 25, 2018 in Liverpool, England.

It is likely to mean midfielders James Milner, who had a season at left-back a couple of years ago, and Fabinho stepping in to give the young England global a break. Even if he does, his fitness appears to be unreliable.

"That was really important because Trent is still a young boy and we can not push him through 20 games in a row".

"We made a lot of changes", said skipper Henderson. I'd go as far as to say we haven't been physical enough in some games.

"I have a plan - surprisingly".

"That's good to know, but of course we hope that it maybe doesn't take that long to score and decide the game".

"You can see how good he is on the ball, how comfortable he is; driving the ball forward, which is important for us".

Klopp confirmed that Liverpool will also be without Dejan Lovren and Dominic Solanke at Bournemouth today.

The German said: "When players are sliding in like that it can get risky, because of the speed, and somebody has to say stop with these tackles".

Lovren was not able to face either Everton or Burnley, and Klopp has revealed that the centre-back is still not ready to return to action. Clyney is out for two weeks or so.

Jürgen Klopp has rejected Sean Dyche's claim that Daniel Sturridge cheated at Turf Moor and described the allegation as a diversion tactic by the Burnley manager.

"I can't avoid it if people want to discuss Daniel, but on the other side I said what I had to say about that after the game, and different opinions are allowed obviously".
