The Fossil Sport smartwatch houses a 350mAh battery and the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform, which brings in new capabilities and extends battery life. We'll give hands-on impressions when we get one to wear. A few flavors are only available for pre-order as of this writing, but every variant carries the same price of $255, regardless of color and size. Each Fossil Sport also has Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. There are also two sizes 41mm and 43mm with 18mm or 22mm bands, respectively, and the watch cases are made of aluminum and nylon which keeps the weight down. Additionally, there's a heart rate sensor, NFC, GPS, altimeter, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and a microphone present on the watch. This is pretty standard for Fossil smartwatches. The fitness-oriented Wear OS device will run the latest version of Wear OS with a revamped fitness and navigation UI. On the software side, Fossil has included three watch faces that integrate with Google Fit to help track your fitness, and Fossil has also preloaded apps like Spotify and Noonlight. The Fossil Sport Smartwatch is already available online and at partnered retail stores in the US. Just where it ranks among the long list of Wear watches remains to be seen.
