Meghan Markle's mom Doria Ragland could be spending Christmas at Sandringham

Sources say the Monarch has made the "very thoughtful gesture" towards Ragland because she respects her so much.

The move is somewhat unprecedented, as a member outside of the Royal family has not been invited to stay at the Norfolk estate during the Christmas period before.

The Queen is said to have asked Doria, 62, to join them for the family's first Christmas since Harry and Meghan's wedding as a "mark of her respect" for the Duchess.

When it comes to Meghan Markle, everyone naturally focuses on her relationship with 1) Prince Harry or 2) Kate Middleton. Meghan Markle rocked an electric blue ensemble from her wedding dress designer Givenchy - but what most style spotters failed to notice was that the fabulous pleated skirt that she combined with the matching sweater was see-through!

In contrast, Kate Middleton's parents have also been guests at the Sandringham Christmas morning church service but typically stay with their daughter and Prince William at their nearby home nearby, instead. "They speak on the phone pretty much every day and they are talking about Doria getting a place in the that she can spend part of the year over here".

The family friend also added that the Duchess of Cornwall was an important mentor to Meghan Markle when she first joined the royal family, welcoming her with open arms and showing her the ropes when it comes to royal protocol.

According to PEOPLE, Markle will take part in activities, including exchanging gifts, holiday meals and even a game of soccer.
