Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 Launched at the Palace Museum with Magnetic Sliding

The phone sports a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display on the front with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 2.5D curved glass. Users can slide open the phone to answer calls or customise it to launch different functions. Carrying an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, the phone comes with screen-to-body ratio of 93.4 percent.

We're still waiting for the Xiaomi UK launch (rumoured to be imminent), but in the meantime you can import Mi Mix 3 through the likes of GearBest. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the phone can be obtained with up to 10GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

The 6GB RAM variant was first spotted on Mi.com yesterday. On another hand, the 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB models will go for CNY 3599 (~RM 2161) and CNY 3999 (~RM 2402) respectively. However, the top-of-the-line variant with 10GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage is priced at RMB 4999 (around Rs 52,800). Xiaomi is also planning to introduce a 5G model next yet. Unfortunately, Xiaomi opted for a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, which is a rather odd choice as Mi Mix smartphones were always geared up with the latest technology. You'll find two more 12 MP cameras on the rear, bringing the total up to four. Price starts at 3,299 yuan (about $475), which gets you 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage.

The handset will be powered with a Snapdragon 845 SoC and will have up to 10GB of RAM and will also support 10-watt wireless charging with dual frequency Global Positioning System.

The setup comprises one Sony IMX363 wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, 1.4um large pixels and Dual Pixel Autofocus, and one Samsung S5K3M3+ telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and 1.0um pixels. Onboard storage options will include 128GB or 256GB.

Earlier this week, Xiaomi announced the Black Shark Helo gaming phone and now its back with another flagship smartphone - Mi Mix 3 that was just launched in an event in Beijing. On the front side, the camera gets a 24 MP main lens and a 2 Mp secondary lens primarily added for depth. The 10GB RAM variant of the phone is called "The Palace Museum" Special Edition Mi MIX 3, and it comes with 24K gold-coated bronze statue.

There is also a Night Mode feature for taking long exposure shots, AI-based scene recognition and support for slow-motion video recording at 960fps. The phone will go on sale in China starting on November 1, while Xiaomi did not share the Mi MIX 3's worldwide availability info just yet, but it will soon.

In our review, we found the Mi A2 to be a good camera-focused phone in a competitive price segment, and noted that the phone had a high value proposition.
