John Mara: Odell Beckham Jr. needs to play more, talk less

During an interview with reporters at the National Football League owners meeting on Tuesday, Mara made it clear that he would like to see Beckham do a "little less talking" going forward.

At this point, with tempers beginning to flare and fans losing their patience, it will be interesting to see which of Mara's comments cause more of a rift - saying Beckham needs to talk less and play more or his semi-defense of Manning.

"We took the best player in the draft", Mara said of Barkley, who has been a rare bright spot for the team this season.

The team would drop to a putrid 1-5 on the season. "I think he needs to do a little more playing and a little less talking".

The Giants are 1-5 and will play the Falcons on Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET. During Thursday Night Football, the New York Giants could do absolutely nothing on offense with Eli getting belted with boos all night long. Mara said he had no regrets about the Giants pick though. "I still. we still believe in him, but everybody needs to do their jobs in order for us to be successful, and right now that's not happening". A year ago the team finished 3-13. "Because the halftime break is really like five, 10 minutes [it's actually 12 minutes], so if I can use a couple extra seconds to go in there and get an IV and be able to come back out ... that's really all it was".

Meanwhile, the Giants have signed former Denver Broncos receiver Bennie Fowler and placed linebacker Ray-Ray Armstrong (concussion) and wide receiver Cody Latimer (hamstring) on injured reserve.
