Elections too, says Trump

US Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen said on Wednesday that China has launched an unprecedented campaign to influence the opinions of Americans, however, Beijing has not yet attacked US election systems.

Trump says that the bilateral trade between U.S. and China is not fair and balanced.

"I think China meddled also".

Trump's views on China have shifted markedly from the accommodation and warmth he had shown in the early months of his presidency.

When it came to the end of the interview, Trump announced, "I'm president and you're not", which prompted Colbert to note that the president sounds "cranky". "It was a very tough meeting and it was a very good meeting", Trump said.

"Okay, you ready?", Trump asked the interviewer, Lesley Stahl, who responded, "I don't understand it". Trump again demonstrated what The Washington Post has long documented: His rhetoric is fundamentally based on making statements that are not true, and he will be as deceptive as his audience will allow.

He dismissed a question from Stahl about a shout-out he gave to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at one of his recent rallies - "we fell in love" - as "just a figure of speech".

Asked if the U.S. and China were on the brink of a "cold war", Kudlow told Fox he had been "very involved in the trade talks with China". "I (have) called it a battle". Actually, the United States pays 22 percent of NATO's common fund. Trump keeps counting U.S. defense spending devoted to patrolling the Pacific Ocean and other parts of the world as part of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation funding.

"There's something really awful and disgusting about that", Trump responded. "I'm saying Russian Federation, but I'm also saying China".

Mr. Trump questioned the very proposition that he called Russian Federation to help him in the elections. "I'm the one- and he's the one that gave away a part of Ukraine where Russian Federation now has this".

At a campaign rally in MS late last month, Trump mocked Ford for what he cast as her incoherent story about what happened with Kavanaugh, a move that even drew some criticism from Republican senators.

"Mr. President, you've been president for two years", said Colbert.

Stahl questioned Trump's friendly relationship with Kim, likening it to an "embrace".

Asked if Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 elections, which is being investigated by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Trump said: "They- they meddled".
