And now today, Samsung has went a step ahead by announcing Samsung Galaxy A9 - world's first smartphone with a whopping four rear cameras.

'Building on our legacy in smartphone camera development, we're introducing next-generation technology across our entire Galaxy portfolio to give more consumers the opportunity to experience cutting-edge innovation, ' said Samsung mobile chief DJ Koh to mark the launch.

"Talking about the specifications, the Galaxy A9 (2018) sports a 6.3" Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ (1080 x 2220 pixels) resolution. It comes standard with 128 GB of storage, although buyers have a choice to supplement that with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. This is one of Qualcomm's most powerful mid-range processor, and it's made using a 10nm manufacturing process. The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) has four cameras on the back. Up front is a 24MP f/2.0 camera for selfies. The feature can be enabled from the camera settings menu.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) smartphone was launched in October 2018. Both have a microSD slot that supports up cards with 512GB of storage to stuff with photos.

Samsung describes the Galaxy A9 as the world's first "quad-camera" phone. Do you think we could see something similar in small, compact cameras? Coming to the software, the Galaxy A9 offers Android 8.0 Oreo, and knowing Samsung, the Pie update isn't likely to roll out until 2019. The camera app will let you switch between the regular sensor to a wide angle sensor with just a tap or switch between 2X optical zoom lens and depth sensor without needing additional third-party accessories. The fourth camera at the rear will be a 5MP depth-sensing module for Live Focus, paired with an f/2.2 aperture. The phone can be purchased in three colour options- Bubblegum Pink, Caviar Black, and Lemonade Blue.

The Galaxy A9 will be available here soon.

The Galaxy A9 has a large 3800 mAh battery, which is bigger than those aforementioned flagships, so we should be looking at a phone with an impressive battery life.
