Khabib Nurmagomedov Threatens To Quit UFC Amid UFC 229 Brawl Fallout

Russian President Vladimir Putin met mixed martial arts champion Khabib Nurmagomedov on Wednesday, saying that he did not deserve harsh punishment for a recent post-fight brawl.

Khabib Nurmagomedov silenced his critics last week after he defeated Conor McGregor at UFC 229 to retain his UFC Lightweight Championship.

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will learn their fate on October 24 following the UFC 229 brawl.

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will be temporarily suspended beginning Monday, according to Nevada Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett.

The victorious UFC lightweight champion, Nurmagomedov, proceeded to throw punches with the McGregor's jiu-jitsu coach (Danis) until security was able to step in and separate the heated rivals. "Why didn't you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple people?"

"They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?"

He added, "If you decide to fire [Tukhugov], you should know that you'll lose me, too".

If you decide to fire him, you should know that you'll lose me too. The thing is, Diaz has really nothing to do with the whole thing, except for the fact that he's campaigning to fight Nurmagomedov. If his relationship with UFC fractures, Viacom-backed Bellator MMA is likely to spend freely to bring him aboard.

McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov, who wasn't involved in the melee, will now face a new opponent instead. Rockhold also said that based McGregor's performance on Saturday night the Irishman shouldn't be given an immediate rematch as it was a very one sided fight.

"But if we are attacked from the outside, then, of course, not only you, but all of us can jump and there'll be hell to pay", Putin said.

McGregor attacked a bus with Nurmagomedov and several of his team-mates on - he was subsequently arrested and found guilty of disorderly conduct for his actions and sentenced to community service. In any case, punish me, (Tukhugov) has nothing to do with that.

"You can keep my money that you are withholding", Nurmagomedov posted. "You cancelled Zubaira's fight and you want to dismiss him just because he hit Conor", Nurmagomedov continued.
