Greg Joseph was signed on Monday after a morning workout with the team.

Carlos Hyde extended their lead with a one-yard touchdown run but the agony began as Gonzalez, who had missed an earlier field goal, pushed his extra point attempt wide.

The Browns have three days to prepare new kicker Greg Joseph for his National Football League debut.

The Browns are making a kicker change less than 24 hours after Zane Gonzalez missed two field goals and two extra points in a 21-18 Browns loss to the Saints.

"It's on me 100 percent", Gonzalez said. I, you know, we all know that Hue Jackson came into the game 1-31-1. I can't blame it on [anybody] else.

Joseph will be signed to replace Zane Gonzalez, whom the Browns will move on from less than two years after selecting the NCAA's all-time most prolific kicker in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Arizona State University. It sucks because we were so close to that win, and it's been so long.

"Gonzalez has been kicking with a groin injury that required an MRI on Monday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter". Even if he makes one field goal.

Gonzalez's botched his first extra point after the Browns went up 12-3 in the third quarter at New Orleans.

A Cleveland Browns helmet rests on the field prior to the game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on September 11, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
