Bernardo Silva was the pick of a brilliant bunch, David Silva marked his 350th game for City with his 50th goal in the Premier League and rumours of Leroy Sane's demise have, evidently, been greatly exaggerated. The Brazil worldwide defender suffered the injury during a training session and took no part in Manchester City's pre-season programme.

"I give a lot of credit to Fulham, Fulham ask a lot from us, from them because they want to play", he said.

"I thought, "who wants me?"

Germany World Cup-winner Toni Kroos claimed Sane - left out of City's squad for their 2-1 win over Newcastle before the worldwide break - must improve his attitude and body language.

The Spain star also opened up about the difficulty he and his family went through after his son Mateo was born prematurely, meaning Silva had to take regular trips back to his homeland to visit him in hospital. "It was so hard with him being in hospital for so long, then you don't stop thinking about it all the time".

"After two or three days of training with him, he came to me and said, "I like this one".

The Premier League champions published their accounts for 2017/18 on Thursday which show turnover has hit £500.50 million, a 44 per cent rise in five years and a near six fold increase in the 10 seasons since Arab billionaire Sheikh Mansour bought the club.

Apart from Manchester City, clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea are strongly challenging for the trophy this season. The former Bayern Munich gaffer said, "It could have been more than three goals, considering the chances we created". I was really impressed. It will be fascinating to see how this game progresses, as Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic insists the Whites will attempt to play their possession-based style even against the reigning Premier League champions.

"For City, two more seasons - what's left on my contract".

I know you all remain ambitious and so do I. It feels that we are only half way up our Everest.

"But we can not forget that sometimes these kind of things happen, he's 22 years old and these kind of things, a little bit up and down, happen at his age, and he has to realise himself as a professional what he has to do".
