Apple's $29 iPhone battery replacements will cost $69 after December

The Apple Special Event held September 12th did not mention a successor to the iPhone SE, and instead, let go of the original SE altogether. But even back then, several Android models, including the popular Motorola DROID X and its 4.3-inch display, carried larger screens than the one on the iPhone. All other details are same as that of the iPhone XS.

Those devices, plus the iPhone X, are no longer available through Apple's website. Well, we've heard these claims before to be honest. They come in gold, silver, and space gray.

But more than that, the iPhone SE was also a solid pick for people who just wanted a truly small device, and with a case that was based on the iPhone 5s, the SE was the last of Apple's handsets with a sharp-edged, less pebble-like design.

What about the iPhone 6 and iPhone SE? The TrueDepth camera system also paves the way for Face ID.

Yesterday, Apple introduced the largest screen to ever adorn an iPhone, the 6.5-inch OLED panel that you will find on the iPhone XS Max.

Similarly, battery replacement for the freshly-announced iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone XR will cost $69 once those phones lose their warranties beginning next year. Not anymore. Apple's new iPhone Xs Max has a much bigger screen than the iPhone X, and all the same top-shelf features. Apple's calling it "Depth Control".

In terms of price, the iPhone XR retails for less than the iPhone XS, costing $749 to pick up at launch. Buyers can head to offline Apple stores to directly buy the new devices from September 21st.

The iPhone X was unveiled only previous year and it went on sale in November 2017. It's a slightly lower-end and more affordable version of the XS.

It may be the least sensational of Apple's three new iPhones for 2018 when you scrutinize the specs, but the iPhone XR (pronounced "ten-R") is absolutely the most interesting - and that has nothing to do with its comparatively cheaper price. The two performance cores in A12 bionic are up to 15 percent faster, while the 4 efficiency cores consume 50 percent less power when compared to the A11 Bionic. The price will start from RMB 6499 and is available in six colours - Yellow, White, Coral, Black, Blue and Red.

Despite coming with a display that's an inch bigger than the iPhone 8 Plus, the iPhone Xs Max offers slightly better battery life than it.

In China, the iPhone XS supports single-SIM while iPhone XS Max brings support for dual SIM. As is availability and release date.

The last one is a dig at Apple's new colours this year suggesting that aside from the colours everything is the same.
