Olivia Newton-John reveals she has cancer for third time

While Olivia beat her second bout of cancer, she is now battling the disease again, with a tumour previous year found at the base of her spine.

Newton-John has made a decision to treat this cancer with modern medicine and natural remedies.

The 69-year-old Grease star revealed during the Australian news program Sunday Night that she's in recovery again for the disease after doctors recently discovered a tumor at the base of her spine. She is also cutting sugar completely from her diet and taking cannabis oil for the pain.

The singer and actor was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and underwent chemotherapy and a partial mastectomy.

In 2013, she was diagnosed with cancer in her shoulder after she was involved in a minor vehicle accident.

"I thought "I don't really need to share this, it's my life and something I wanted to keep to myself", she told reporter Alex Cullen.

When asked if she was scared, Newton-John said, "No, I don't go there. I'm very lucky that I live in a state where it's legal and that I have a husband that is a plant-medicine man". As a result, she turned to her husband's Amazon Herb Company as well as the oncology team at her Melbourne Cancer and Wellness Centre throughout 2012.

"My dream is that, in Australia soon, it will be available to all the cancer patients and people going through cancer that causes pain".

She told Sunday Night host Alex Cullen: "They sent John Travolta to my home to talk me into it".

Outside of her own battles with cancer, the disease has struck another member of her family: Her sister died six weeks after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer in 2013. "I'm still treating it and I'm treating it naturally", she said on Sunday. But in recent years, it's her fight against cancer that's been in the headlines.

'I live in this attractive place. And, um, I'm a very privileged person, and I'm very aware of that.

"I feel so fortunate to have had the success I've had, and to do the wonderful things I do", she continued. I have an incredible career.
