The music world is coming to grips with the devastating loss of rapper Mac Miller today, who died following a suspected drug overdose at the age of 26.

However, according to reports by TMZ, it is believed the performer died of a drug overdose.

The rapper Mac Miller has died at his home in the San Fernando Valley in California on Friday.

He allegedly wrecked his Mercedes-Benz G Class vehicle by slamming into a utility pole, and fled the scene of the crash. "I'm a human being", Miller said about his arrest, People reported.

Mac, real name Malcom James McCormick, and Ariana dated for two years, before calling things off earlier this year. She continued, "I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be".

The exact cause of his death is yet to be confirmed by the police. His family has released a heartbreaking statement following the death of the Pittsburgh born rapper.

Mac and Ariana performed their duet The Way at One Love Manchester after the terror attack on one of Ariana Grande's shows.

Grande has not yet publicly responded to Miller's passing.

Since his death, a 2012 interview Miller gave to music website Faderhas gone viral on Twitter.

Early Friday evening, Grande reportedly disabled her comments on Instagram. I respect and adore him, and I am grateful to have him in my life in whatever form, and at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for the two of us'.

Miller continued, "That being, like, some part of like a weight in my emotional space, my head space, but it became second nature, right?.So when all the press happened, with the breakup and the DUI.but with everything that happened, it was just too much".

His American tour was due to start in October. Of course. But you know what? "ALL Strength & Prayers to those who loved him", Rossi wrote.

The rapper, whose most popular songs included "Loud", "Smile Back" and a collaboration with Grande called "The Way", released his latest album "Swimming" this summer.

Taking to Twitter on 6 September, he told his 8.61million followers: 'I just wanna go on tour'.
