The network has published specifications of the smartphone Huawei Mate 20 Lite

Twitter leak specialist Evan Blass (@evleaks) has posted an image of what he claims to be the Huawei Mate 20 Lite in press renders form. Now, in the latest developments captured by German publication WinFuture, the Mate 20 Lite will indeed have similarities with the Nova 3i.

The "Kirin 980 will power the Mate 20 Series", he said, in an official statement.

With an anticipated launch sometime in October, it's a good two months out from an announcement, and yet already there's leaked renders and some specs too.

It's worth noting that Huawei's phone lines (at the moment) generally come in two or three tiers - a Pro model (Mate 20 Pro), a standard model (Mate 20) and a lite model, which in Australia usually goes under a different name. We wouldn't be at all surprised if there was a repeat of the special Porsche Design edition as well, but that has not been tipped just yet. This is the main reason why it is believed that the leak might actually be for the Mate 20 Pro. Android 8.1 Oreo will come pre-installed on the phone, along with Huawei's Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.2 skin. With the photography advancements on the P20 and P20 Pro, and the specs rumored to be on-board, we can't wait to officially get our hands on it. Two SIM card slots will be available on the phone (2x nano SIM), while a 3,650mAh battery will also be a part of the package.

Huawei's Mate series' launch is approaching and leaks are starting to pile up.

This could be the Huawei Mate 20 Pro's front panel. Under the hood, the smartphone could feature the company's recent Kirin 710 octa-core processor, a 12-nanometer TSMC chip with four 1.7-GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores and up to four 2.2 GHz fast Cortex-A73 cores.

A second-generation NPU (Neural Processing Unit) for the AI features Huawei has been shown to have a massive amount of enthusiasm for. Out of the three, Mate 20 Lite smartphone was recently certified by TENAA in China. The report further mentions that the device will be sold in Black and Gold color variants.
