"I feel great. Everything is good, the test was good, people around the stadium, the fans, the people in the training ground are very nice with me".

Emre Can, a summer signing from Liverpool, also appeared in the match which, remarkably, was won by the B team 3-2.

Chants of "Ronaldo, bring us the Champions (League)" filled the air as supporters worked their way through a locked-down mountain town in which 600 police officers were called to a place with a population of just over 4,000 and road blocks stopped anyone entering without a match ticket or proof of residence.

Having taken extended leave after the 2018 World Cup and his move from Real Madrid, the Portugal striker was finally introduced to fans in Sunday's friendly against the club's Primavera side.

In 2017/18, Ronaldo was his usual dominant self in Europe as he smashed 15 goals to top the Champions League scoring charts and fired Real Madrid to continental glory for the third straight year.

With just a week to go until the Serie A season kicks off, Ronaldo will have wanted to work off the rustiness on the field, and he had the chance to do so against the Juve B-team.
