De Bruyne, Sterling available for Manchester City’s Sunday trip to Arsenal

City topped the table by 19 points last time around - 37 clear of Arsenal - but Guardiola, who will not be offering any words of advice to his opposite number this weekend, is confident the men from north London will be in the mix come the end of the season.

Unlike Arsenal, Guardiola's team are a force all over the pitch.

Manchester City bolstered their attacking line with the club record signing of Riyad Mahrez but were not as active in the transfer window as they were this time previous year. "Now, when I say something to them, they know exactly what we have to do". A win helps to win more.

In addition to the title, City also won the Carabao Cup and they have already shown signs of maintaining the momentum by winning the Community Shield in comfortable fashion.

The players will train at the stadium today ahead of tomorrow's opener against Manchester City - a departure from the traditional methods employed by his predecessor. We also need time, but now I am happy because I think the players are improving.

Elsewhere, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was all smiles as he trained with his team-mates.

The new Gunners boss begins life in the Premier League with a clash against the Citizens at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon. This season we don't know. The full-back suffered an injury in the team's preseason match against Chelsea.

In defence, Benjamin Mendy with his bombarding runs and decent defensive skills looks certain to start in the left back position. The major issue is at left-back, where Sead Kolasinac is definitely out and Nacho Monreal is considered doubtful, which may mean Ainsley Maitland-Niles starting.

He has returned to training this week but it's unclear as to whether he'll start the match or be among the substitutes. Then I told the players it will be Cech, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka.

Arsenal are also without long-term casualty Laurent Koscielny, while England global Danny Welbeck also misses out. However, with Laurent Koscielny out of action until Christmas, another tried and tested centre-half wouldn't go amiss.

In a competitive squad, where Pep Guardiola has a plethora of options in attack, Bernardo Silva would do very well to fend off teammates Raheem Sterling and David Silva for consistency in the team.

That's an nearly impossible task against City, who set out to defend their title the same as last season - plus Riyad Mahrez.

Having missed out on the Champions League, Arsenal will play in the Europa league but boy aren't they in safe hands!
