Pep Guardiola's side romped to the Premier League title in record-breaking fashion, essentially having the title in the bag by Christmas time such was their complete and utter superiority to all other teams in the division.

Manchester City fullback Kyle Walker says they're going for the lot this season.

Premier League fixtures: Can Man City retain their title?

Jurgen Klopp's men demonstrated their ability to beat City on the big occasion last season, winning three of the four meetings between the sides, including a 5-1 aggregate win in the Champions League quarter-finals.

"I think this was a chance that we didn't want to lose and we made it".

The window closes on Thursday Aug. 9, three weeks sooner than normal, with the Premier League season starting on Saturday.

After Jose Mourinho bolstered his squad over the summer by signing young defender Diogo Dalot, Brazil worldwide Fred and back-up goalkeeper Lee Grant, Shaw believes that United will be more than a match for rivals this campaign.

Writing on Twitter, Collymore said as he predicted the top four: "City".

While many of his teammates have been publicly questioned by their manager, Mourinho has so far been fiercely loyal to one of his marquee signings. You've got Chelsea, Tottenham, so it's going to be a tough season, but we're really up for the challenge and we want to go and prove that we are the best team in the league.

By contrast, Liverpool are well-placed to hit the ground running ahead of Sunday's kick-off at home to West Ham as Virgil van Dijk, Keita and Fabinho missed out on the World Cup, while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane bowed out at the group stage with Egypt and Senegal.

They get the ball forward quickly, it'll work for the first five to six games, and they need to get off to a flyer, but it could catch up with them after that. However, I just think this team is lacking the attacking flair and a prolific striker, with Troy Deeney struggling to recreate his early Premier League form.

But Stones briefly moved up the field when Vincent Kompany came on as a substitute late in the 2-0 Community Shield win over Chelsea on Sunday.

"I feel this season we can do it", Shaw added.
