Customers attacked with brooms after dispute over botched $5 eyebrow wax

Nail salon workers got involved in a nasty fight with two of their customers when one of the customers refused to pay for eyebrow work that wasn't up to scratch.

A viral video showing a group of nail salon employees beating a customer with a broom has resulted in backlash for the Brooklyn business.

About 150 predominantly African-American demonstrators marched from New Red Apple Nails at 1426 Nostrand Ave. - scene of the melee caught on tape Friday - to the Beautiful Red Apple Nails at 1224 Nostrand Ave. and trapped four employees inside.

Employee Huiyue Zheng, 32, was charged with assault and weapon possession and was released on her own recognizance after a hearing at Brooklyn Criminal Court.

"Hitting them like animals", she said, referring to the customers.

"So I'm at the nail salon and they f*cked up a lady's eyebrow and she refused to pay then a fight broke out", Maduka wrote in her Facebook caption. Maduka, who originally posted the video, wrote on Facebook, "Share this cause the cops made a decision to arrest the black people but not the Chinese people who ganged up on them".

Police on Monday confirmed the incident resulted in two arrests.

Customer Christina Thomas was arrested on misdemeanor assault and other charges and was also released without bail, report the New York Post.

Zhing was hospitalized with visible injuries to her face and body, and Thomas refused medical attention, according to police.

Police have not confirmed any other details in the case, but a spokesperson for the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office confirmed they are examining all the evidence and will evaluate charges based on that. Protesters said they hope the salon will be shut down. One person at the protest threw a bottle, hitting an NYPD officer in the back.
