Elderly German Men Escape From Nursing Home To Attend Metal Festival

Whether or not that happens will be a different story altogether.

Two elderly German men escaped the confines of their nursing home on Friday to attend Wacken Open Air, police said.

Unsurprising enough, the men were reluctant to leave the four-day event so police had to escort them home with the help of a taxi and a patrol auto.

According to the German news outlet Deutsche Welle, nursing home officials contacted police when they noticed that the two men were missing from the facility.

Wacken is one of the biggest heavy metal festivals in the world, and it's clear these two blokes weren't gonna let age, security or basic walls stop them from missing out on the fun. But they had a bloody brilliant time, we bet.

A police spokesperson remarked, rather nonchalantly, that the men "obviously liked the metal festival" which is a statement that is likely to rank in the higher echelons of the Great Ders of History.

Approximately 75,000 people attend Wacken each year, growing since its beginnings in 1990.

Heavy metal fans around the world have hailed the pair for their daring act.

This year there were some huge names in metal performing at the festival including Danzig, Cannibal Corpse, Judas Priest, Children of Bodom and then the Red Hot Chilli Peppers for some reason!
