Leonard suffered through a mysterious quad injury last season, which limited him to just nine games and reportedly helped cause the irreparable rift between him and the Spurs that led to Leonard requesting a trade in June. Extension talks between Leonard and the Nike subsidiary stalled earlier this year after Leonard turned down a four-year, $22 million extension.

Leonard last played on January 13; he sat out the rest of the season to manage a quad injury.

Green, meanwhile, played 70 games for the Spurs in 2017-18 after missing five games in December due to the groin injury. He is a two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and the 2014 NBA Finals MVP.
