It’s official: April the giraffe is expecting - again!

Patch says she's expected to give birth to her fifth calf next March or April.

April the giraffe, who starred in a livestream watched by millions while she was pregnant, is expecting once again, Animal Adventure Park confirmed on Wednesday.

It seems April the giraffe has another bun in the oven.

Oliver, who fathered Tajiri, is also the father of the new calf - whose gender won't be known until April gives birth.

April made internet fame in 2017 when the world collectively watched and waited for months for her to give birth to baby "Taj", on the park's live stream, with more than a million viewers tuning in to watch the actual birth.

At the time, Patch had said: 'Now we are ready to ship them out to another zoo's laboratory for confirmation of a pregnancy'. 'Giraffe populations have declined by 40 percent in the past 30 years, so every calf born in a captive management program means something'. The average giraffe pregnancy lasts about 15 months, the zoo says. Tajiri celebrated his birthday in April.
