George Clooney reportedly hurt in motorcycle crash in Italy

A local police officer confirmed to CNN he spoke to Clooney after the accident and the actor said he was "fine".

The collision, involving Clooney's scooter and a auto, happened close to his hotel, according to the reports.

According to a report from TMZ, Clooney became a human projectile and flew 20 feet in the air and over the auto he hit.

The crash reportedly went down just after 8:00 a.m. - local time - when a auto cut across the path George was taking on the road.

George, 57, was reportedly found lying injured on the road, having badly hurt his pelvis and bruised both his arms and legs. He reportedly received an MRI at the hospital, according to People.

While it sounds like the crash was dramatic and George had a seriously lucky escape, he is now at home recovering after being treated in hospital. Though the father of two wasn't seriously hurt, that didn't stop fans from worrying, with one turning to Twitter to say: "I saw George Clooney trending and nearly had a heart attack", while another declared: "George Clooney should not be tampered with 2018!" He has a broken rib, it's very painful and it'll take a long time to heal ...

In the hospital, he was joined by his wife Amal and they left the venue together in a private vehicle.

George was riding at Costa Corallina on his way to a film set and was traveling along a motorway when the crash happened.
