Clooney is staying on the Italian island to film a Hulu mini-series based on the classic Joseph Heller novel Catch-22.

It is understood he was rushed to Saint John II Hospital in Olbia with minor injuries but has since been discharged from ER.

George Clooney was injured in a road accident in Italy today when his scooter collided with a vehicle.

New reports suggest George was "propelled over the vehicle he hit", according to TMZ. His helmet, which broke during the crash, is said to have smashed the Mercedes' windshield.

A representative for the actor confirmed his well-being to Just Jared , saying in a statement: "George Clooney was treated and released from an Olbia hospital".

A police investigation is now underway, to determine the cause of the accident, and more details are bound to emerge in the coming hours. Clooney has since been released and will resume filming in a couple of days, per CNN. A photo tweeted by the local news outlet shows a motorcycle beside a slightly damaged Mercedes and a fire extinguisher.

"He is recovering at his home and will be fine", his rep Stan Rosenfield told The Post in an email.

Italian media report the accident happened in Sardinia where the USA actor is filming his latest TV series, Catch-22. It's unclear when George will return to filming.

It is reported that George was then x-rayed and seen to by a doctor, before being discharged the same morning and leaving the premises in a chauffeur driven vehicle.
