Rocky says during the altercation Depp's breath reeked of alcohol. When the scene didn't go as planned, Rocky went to tell Depp that putting his friends in this particular scene in downtown Los Angeles may not work.

In the movie, Depp plays the real LAPD detective Russell Poole - who investigated the murder of Biggie Smalls.

Location manager Gregg "Rocky" Brooks claims the Pirates of the Caribbean star became violent after he informed the actor that he only had one more chance to shoot a scene in Los Angeles in April, 2017. Brooks said 11 P.M. was the latest he could get the shooting time inside the hotel extended and when he notified director Brad Furman that production would have to stop for the evening, the director replied, "Why don't you tell that to Johnny Depp?".

The location manager on City Of Lies, whom Johnny "punched in the ribs" in May, has hired a lawyer, according toTMZ. "You have no right to tell me what to do".

Before Rocky could reach the officer, he claims Depp attacked him and angrily screamed, "Who the fuck are you?"

Page Six previously reported that Depp also told Brooks, "I'll give you $100,000 to punch me right now!" in return for his jabs.

Brooks said Depp continued his belligerent behavior until bodyguards removed him from the set. When Brooks returned to the set three days later, producer Miriam Segal allegedly wanted him to sign a declaration stating that he would not sue the production team.

The lawsuit seeks an unspecified amount in punitive damages.

Depp opened up about his dire financial situation in a candid interview with Rolling Stone magazine last month, revealing he fell into a deep depression in 2016 as his money issues worsened, all while fighting allegations of domestic abuse during his bitter divorce from his The Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard.

City Of Lies is due out on September 7.
