‘More concerned about Karnataka’s fitness’: Kumaraswamy to PM’s fitness challenge

He passed the challenge on to Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, Commonwealth gold medallist Manika Batra and all the Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, especially those above the age of 40.

The prime minister's one-and-a-half minute video comes almost a month after he accepted the fitness challenge thrown by Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli.

Mr Kumaraswamy's reply came soon after.

"#HumFitTohIndiaFit", he wrote. Modi further advised all his fellow countrymen to at least dedicate some part of the time of the day to fitness.

The Fit India movement was initiated by Prime Minister Modi in March, which has been gaining momentum since then. The advice was reportedly to assign portfolios at the soonest and not take any burden.

The fitness challenge was first started by union minister Rajyavardhan Rathore.

Similarly, the honourable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has also completed the fitness challenge posed to him by the Indian captain Virat Kohli. He posted a two-minute long video in which there are glimpses of his routine exercises which involve yoga and a walk on the track inspired by the 5 elements of nature. He is also seen balancing himself while walking on a narrow, circular track.

Following a fractured verdict in the Karnataka Assembly Elections, Kumaraswamy was sworn in as Chief Minister of Karnataka on May 23, after his JD (S) allying with the Congress.

Earlier this month, PM Modi had shared a 3D video of him showcasing the Nadi Shodhan Pranayam - "Anulom Vilom". "Yet, I am more concerned about devlpment fitness of my state&seek ur support for it". He is seen undertaking yoga and another day to day exercises.

Not just Kumaraswamy, PM also nominated the "CWG 2018 medal victor Manika Batra and entire fraternity of courageous IPS officers", especially above 40 years of age, he said.

There was also a statue of Buddha in the garden where he did yoga "inspired by panchtatvas or five elements of nature-Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash". This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating.
