'Wedding Crashers' star Vince Vaughn busted at DUI stop

Vaughn, who grew up in Buffalo Grove and Lake Forest, was arrested at a checkpoint and had a passenger in the vehicle. The passenger was also arrested and charged with obstructing an officer and public intoxication.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Vaughn was busted by Manhattan Beach PD at 1:09 AM and booked into custody at 4:03 AM. "By publicizing these educational and enforcement efforts, the Manhattan Beach Police Department believes that drinking and driving and driving while unlicensed will be reduced".

Vince Vaughn has since released from jail. He was held on a $5,000 bail at the police station, and now reportedly both men are free.

Vaughn hasn't been in legal trouble for drinking and driving in the past, but he was arrested once before back in 2001 in an incident in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Since his first big role, Vince has gone on to star in a variety of on-screen roles including his alter ego as Sergeant Howell in Mel Gibson's Hacksaw Ridge in 2016. When contacted by USA TODAY, Vaughn's representative was unable to confirm the actor's arrest. He was with fellow actor Steve Buscemi at the time of the fight, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Buscemi was stabbed during the altercation.

While mostly known for comedy roles at the beginning of his career including Wedding Crashers, Dodgeball, and Old School, Vince Vaughn has been in more drama movies lately.
