Tiger Woods boat: Yacht to be US Open base in Hamptons

They're highlighted by a group that includes Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas, which will tee off from No. 1 at 1:47 p.m. on Thursday and 8:02 a.m on Friday.

Woods will compete in the U.S. Open for the first time since 2015. But for infamous golfer Tiger Woods, known as much for his dramatic personal life as his skill on the greens, it also means getting to lounge aboard his multimillion-dollar yacht.

Woods' yacht is docked at the exclusive Montauk Yacht Club, about an hour away from Shinnecock in Southampton.

He also won the 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach and the 2002 championship at Bethpage.

According to Mara Siegler of Page Six, Woods will be staying on "Privacy", the 155-foot boat he bought for $20 million back in 2004, when he and then-wife Elin Nordegren spent their wedding night on it. She apparently made numerous interior design choices for the sleek vessel, like the dark cherry wood, marble and leather furniture.

There's a master suite in addition to six staterooms, and it can accommodate 21 overnight guests.

Woods will stay on the boat next week, as he prepares for and plays in the Open. There's plenty of amenities on board like a Jacuzzi, theater and a gym all available to pass the time. The area around Shinnecock Hills on the eastern end of Long Island is full of attractive rental homes and beachside hotels.
