First Man arrives in theaters on October 12.
Ryan Gosling takes on First Man, based on the book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong by author James R. Hansen, which was published by Simon & Schuster in 2005.
As noted by NME, the trailer first appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live", where Gosling and Kimmel wore spacesuits for the "first-ever interview in space". We see Armstrong getting off the space capsule to earn the title of 'First Man on the Moon'.More news: Yahoo Messenger to Shut Down on July 17

The film focuses on the lead-up to and events of that fateful event, chronicling Armstrong's life from the early 60s up until his historic achievement. The film includes interviews with reporters, asking him hard questions.
What's striking here is how much they're playing up the danger and the risk, both elements we tend to forget about because the mission was a success. She imagines her husband travelling 240,000 miles to land on the moon, telling her husband that it wasn't just another trip, adding that he isn't just "going to work". Neil Armstrong faces questions from politicians, and is even asked by his son, "Do you think you're coming back?"
The trailer begins with Armstrong (Ryan Gosling) entertaining the idea of becoming the first man to land on the moon.
