The latest trailer for Luke Cage's second season not only reintroduced us to Mike Colter's suave superhero, it also offered the first glimpse at the main villain: Bushmaster, played by actor Mustafa Shakir.
No longer able to hide in the shadows after the events of season one, his visibility only increases his need to protect those around him, leading some hard choices. According to the press release, Luke will need to "confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain". But we'll see when season two of Luke Cage arrives June 22nd. Mariah is trying to take over Cottonmouth's spot as the "Queen of Harlem" and she appears to be running his club. Besides the fact that Mike Colter nailed it as the bulletproof hero from Harlem, the supporting cast which included Mahershala Ali, Rosario Dawson, Alfre Woodard, and Simone Missick delivered groundbreaking performances as well. "From the moment you see each of them on screen, I feel they will be powerful additions to the world of Marvel and Harlem's Luke Cage". It's executive produced by showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker, Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb. That would be legendary criminal, John McIver, who was created by infamous comics author Chris Claremont.
